Most Common Specification for Zinc Plating is ASTM B633, where Sc1 = .0002 thick, Sc2 = .0003 thick, Sc# = .0005 thick, Sc4 = .001. Type I = as plated, Type II = Colored Chromate, Type III Colorless Chromate.

Akron Plating now offers RoHS Compliant, Hexavalent Free clear and yellow zinc chromates. The salt spray test results from our 1st production run on the Clear chromate resulted in 336 hours to white rust.
